Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim
Mogaddam is highlighting the use of language as a meaning system and not solely as a means to describe. A big part of language is the interpretation of meaning, it is used to share ideas, thoughts, beliefs and to some extent, language when used in social system can be used to collaboratively create ideas, beliefs and thoughts. A great example of language as a meaning system is the creation of slang among peers. A word or phrase can come to mean something entirely new to a group of people. This social collaboration between people constructs something new which could not previously exist if one separated the individuals in a group. Overtime, innovations to language creates completely new dialects and culture among people. For example, when regions of people are separated their language takes different evolutionary paths than the other group. After decades have past, it may be difficult for people speaking the same language to communicate with each other. (Think British vs American English; many words and slang used are very difficult to understand for an outsider of any group.)

Can you give specific examples to support your answer? I agrees overtime language changes a lot; however, you need to give specific examples to show this evolution in action.
