Minority assimilation: where the majority absorbs the minority into the majority, usually through dedicated schools, religious ideologies, etc. to make the minority conform to the majority.
Melting pot assimilation: where both populations grow and learn from each other, usually to generate a more compatible living and societal environments.
Between Minority assimilation and melting pot assimilation, the differences that I would expect to encounter are as follows: -The minority would never be treated equally, whereas in the melting pot they would be not only equal but also comparable to the majority -In minority assimilation, families could be ruined, children ripped from their parents arms, etc. -In the melting pot assimilation, the minority would be generally accepted by the majority, although that acceptance may spark a resistance movement within the majority to reject and outcast the minority, possibly leading to violence as well.
