Are emotions innate? Damasio raises the question of whether emotions are innate. His answer isn't a simple yes or no. Summarize his response.
"In some instances, emotional responses may be strictly innate; in others they may require minima help from appropriate exposure to the environment" (Damasio, p. 47). Damasio's answer isn't a simple yes or no response. Damasio states that it depends on the instance, the experience in which a born with emotion is reviled or it could be an experience in which creates an association that that gets triggered in similar or the same instances.

Hi
I like your approach of referencing back to the author. I suggest that you provide 1-2 examples from the book to support innate and 1-2 examples to support emotions are as a result of a stimuli from the environment.
This provides a more strong argument.
Thanks Ali
