Are emotions innate?
Damasio raises the question of whether emotions are innate. His answer isn't a simple yes or no. Summarize his response.
it isn't a simple yes or no because to get to emotions which is a bottled state something has to trigger your amygdala environmentally that executes emotion of change in the bodies state "survival well being-fear"-fight or flight mode... then feelings comes after which is a conscious aspect, it can either be private or obvious.
Ex; Albert was taught to be afraid of the rat (was innate) where as the infant monkey reacts to whatever the adult monkey reactions is to the snake therefore the infant emotions to the snakes will reflect in its adult stage.
Emotions = reflects

Hi
I like your logic and how you approach the question. I suggest that you provide 1-2 examples from the book to support innate and 1-2 examples to support emotions are as a result of a stimuli from the environment.
This provides a more strong argument. Also clearly state Damasio's opinion regarding emotions as being innate or from environment. or maybe both.
Thanks Ali
