First off, even though Damasio tried to explain what emotion really is, I still think we do not have a gasp of what it truly is. The repeating story in psychology is about the only data we rely on is ourselves. Us being the individual. Every study conducted is always relaying on the individual's thoughts and what the person is displaying or check off. We have also have spoke in class about how in todays conversation we often interchange emotions, mood, personality, etc. We often describe someone with an emotion and also it can be a identifiable characteristic. I think he concluded the chapter with the statement because it shows how complex the human mind is, especially pertaining to emotion and the like. We can start off with understanding what emotion is but at the end we then totally flip emotion and not understand it.
