According to Damasio, emotions are not technically innate, but it is likely to be different for different emotions. Some emotions or any reactions maybe innate, however some also requires the external factors and the environment. In his example, the ultimate behavior of animals that does not dominate or yield space precedence at real times. The reactions were never taught but is evoked because of the brain machinery. Moreover, emotions can be explained through evolution. In some cases, to evoke such emotions, an individual requires exposure to the environment with the help of external factors. Emotions are the responses of into a particular environment of a mechanism that evolved.
