According to Damasio's question regarding how emotions and feelings play a role in decision making, emotions and feelings both play a major role in decision making where our experiences affect our decision making. Decision making is a cognitive/mental process in which we use our emotions on more rational terms vs. feelings which is more irrational.
Depending on the decision, with ones knowledge regarding their past emotions and feelings associated with experiences, they learn from prior mistakes and decisions to make a better and more justifying decision in the present.
A personal experience i've had that relates to Damasio's question regarding decision making is whenever I feel angry within, I would tend to make poor decisions and displace it onto other through harsh words that I would only regret later on. There were many other ways in which I could've handled the situation that wouldn't cause myself or others pain and yet I didn't realize it at the time. With a few more repetitions and endings with the same result, I learned that to avoid this altogether I must change how I managed my temper and how I handled the situation. By making this decision, I felt more at ease and more happier for it did not affect those around me.
