I believe that Shakespeare, through the story of Hamlet, seems to be taking a causal science view of life apposed to a normative science view. My reason for believing so it based on the fact that causal science conducts experiments, whereas normative science does not conduct experiments.
Hamlet created a situation, to then observe the reaction/behaviour of his uncle and mother. Hamlet created a method to manipulate the independent variable (which is presented through the 2 different scenes, the normal scene and the murder scene) in order to test its effect on the dependent variable (which were the emotional reactions of his uncle and mother) (Moghaddam, p. 18). Hamlet conducted this experiment (causal) therefore, i believe he is taking a causal science view of life.
