In the Moghaddam textbook, it says "language is recognized as not just descriptive, but constructive". From a social constructionist perspective, basically he is saying that language is constructed by people and is constructed as individuals are always forming original sentences and phrases together. What it means is that the construction of language is based off the societal norms that shape the language that is spoken by the individuals belonging to that particular society. An example would be calling someone a "nerd". This would not be understood by someone who does not speak English as fluently as someone in the western society who understands the slang word.
