8) " I dont trust men; they all say they'll be true, but they never are" Behaviourist approach: They have been negatively reinforced time and time again by men lying to them, cheating on them. being hurt by them one to many times. Now this individuals behaviour is driving by the desire to avoid negative reinforcement. the behaviour approach to get her to trust men is to have her in a situation where her trust in men is rewarded. Psychoanalytic approach: believe that she has trust issues with her father and then has past down to her not trusting in men. the therapist would have to explore the issues with her father and why she feels that she cant trust him. she is experiencing transference from her father onto other males in life. The psychoanalytic approach looks at your feelings and your thoughts when the behaviourist looks at external feed back. differing them from one another.

You may want to be careful when you use the term negative reinforcement for the behaviorist approach. Negative reinforcement is when something unpleasant is taken away. Think of another term can be used instead. For the psychoanalytic approach would you say the unconsciousness can also play a role?
