If a bathroom scale is reliable it means the it yields the same results consistently and repeatedly when being used under the same conditions. If it is valid this means that the information being provided by the scale is accurate. If you obtain a set weight repeatedly from your scale but when the results are tested against another similar scale under the same conditions the information differ, it would then provide the insight that your scale is quite reliable because of its consistency but is not valid as it lacks accuracy.
If you have a scale that produces correct information even when tested against the information gathered by a separate but similar scale then you have accuracy which aligns with validity. However if this is inconsistent then you no longer have reason to believe that any information provided by the scale is accurate and therefore one cannot have valid without reliability.
Reliability is the ability to replicate a study and obtain the same result consistently, internal validity means that the result obtained in the lab proves to be accurate each time the study is replicated within the same parameters of the lab that is the independent variables under laboratory conditions causes change in the dependent variable, however the result may not be able to be generalized to people and or situations outside of the lab which would therefore mean that it lacked external validity.
In terms of surveys and interviews, the information provided can prove to be quite reliable as the individual being questions can provide the same information consistently, however this information may not be valid as the individual can simply be providing the answers that they believe the researcher wishes to hear versus the truth.
