I don’t trust men; they all say they’ll be true, but they never are.
Personality traits:
From this point of view, the attitude of this woman is based on her inborn personality trait. She is by nature very low on agreeableness level and therefore not trusting toward men.
Freud:
Freud might've concluded that this attitude is a result of defense mechanism. The woman might be the one who is not being true herself, but unconsciously she projects this quality on others (men in this case).
Social construction:
This type of psychologist would look for the explanation of this attitude in the cultural norms. Such norm could be prevalent in woman's family and she could've learned this attitude from her mother. If for example, the father had abandoned his family, the mother could have come to such conclusion and then passed it on to her daughter as a norm about men.
