The role played by the Id is that it represents our innermost desires; such as sexual desires and aggression. The role played by the ego is that it essentially acts like a libra scale, it's our median and keeps a balance between the id and superego The role played by the superego is that it represents our morals which is based on the society in which we live in. As individuals, the strength and weakness between our id and superego varies. This depends on our ego, if an individual has a weak ego they will tend to lean towards the id, if they have a strong ego then they would lean towards their superego.
