A few primary stimuli are Sadness, Anger, and Fear
Sadness (Death): I believe sadness is innate because I do not think that sadness is something that needs to be taught, it's something that happens naturally. When you develop a connection whether it's strong or weak when you lose that I think most people feel something. A death of a loved one (close family members) could take a big toll on an individual resulting in all sorts of emotions and feelings.
Anger (getting hit): I believe this is also innate because I think someone doesn't need to learn how to be angry. For example, when I child gets pushed majority of the time the immediate reaction would be to retaliate (push back). A child asking for a cookie and not receiving that cookie until he or she eats dinner first could lead to frustration because the child may or may not understand why they have to wait. That built up frustration can then lead to anger (tantrum).
Fear (animal): I believe this is learned by association because for example, children don't normally sense danger and or associate things as being bad unless taught otherwise (or learn the hard way). When I was younger don't recall being scared of spiders. I watched the harry potter series (there's a big spider scene in one of the earlier movies), I was able to watch it and didn't think too much of it. I was a little skeptical because at the time I was really young and thought that was a scary scene. I felt like that movie must've triggered something (nothing too significant though). I remember around that time I snuck out of bed and watched a horror movie which revolved around these mutated spiders. That movie definitely triggered something in me because after that I could not stand spiders. Now I'm an arachnophobic, I can't even look at the image of a spider, I can no longer watch any shows/movie scenes with spiders, If I think about a spider before I go to sleep I have to get my flashlight and check my surroundings or else I can't sleep, if I see a spider I freak out and for hours I'll feel itchy and think something is on me. Even typing this I feel a little unease.
