Joint action is based on how society acts (multiple individuals) and from this is can not be pin point down to the original thought process of the individual. Humans are a unique species that have evolved and boosted certain abilities. One of them would be being able to understand language which does includes gestures of others. This ability is being compromised by people doing social acts and adjusting to societies norms. These anticipations have to be constantly adjusted and trained to fit the social norms. Without them we would be influencing others the wrong way and can lead to miscommunication and sometimes to a more dangerous road. An example would be meeting uo with my friend and seeing the interaction at the beginning between us. Gestures such as a high five or a hug are anticipated due to closeness and joint action between gestures and language can be seen. It shows our closeness between my friend and I.
