Joint action suggests that we can the social act is not determined by what happens first in the situation - it is instead determined by a joint product where an individual responds pre-reflectively. In class, Ron gave the example of a person being teasing another person who gets set off by getting teased. Butt says it is too simple to just determine a prediction for the situation from what we know at the beginning, because more things can come into play later.
