Agency is a concept that allows individuals to determine their own actions... the person is seen as independent and can make their own decisions. The actions and behaviour of individuals construct society.
Structural determinism describe a scenario in which there is a pre-given societal structure (such as language, for example) that determines the behaviour of the individual.
Behaviourist: SD because believe that people don't have agency, rather they are a product of reward/punishment mechanisms and their behaviour can always be determined.
Damasio: also SD because he sees the person as a product of the brain and generally connects his theories of behaviour to biological units.
Humanists: Agency. humanists believe that humans all have the power to make their own choices as individuals without the influence of outside sources (individualism)
Dark SC: Definitely SD, theory is that there are overarching political, economic and social boundaries for peoples behaviour... source of societal oppression
B&L: although people are constructions of society, they also believe in individualism and existentialism because once people are constructed by society, they do have agency
