i believed that aggression can be both a biological or learned phenomena but more so learned. According to research if we read or , sing or displays anger to a fetus they will be born with all that, however through nurturing that child will change their behavior based on the environment in which they were nurtured. If we take a look at Pavlov classical conditioning or Albert and the white rat we will realize that if a child was born with certain behavior (aggression) it can be displaced through the guidance of someone else.
I do believe that people are taught to channel the aggression elsewhere especially if they learnt directly or indirectly that it will not do any good for them. Parents, teachers, caregivers, coaches and even our pears can teach us how to displaced our aggression like , telling someone to yell as loud as you can, punch your pillow, do exercises or walk away from the situation until you are calm. Many times we will deposit our anger on someone who had nothing to do with the situation be cause we were taught directly or indirectly that we cant talk back to our parents, teacher , employer; in short our superiors but on the contrary these are the very people that we sometimes learnt our aggressive behaviors from and so sometimes we attack the closest to us.
One example that was learnt in class was two groups of students being aggressive with each other because they both decided it was their turn to use the playing field , they were ready to fight when the coach came up with a brilliant idea of disconnecting their water supply. Realized they would be out of water which was a necessity their energy and attention was focus elsewhere and that is pooling their resources to get water instead of fighting.
