I think a common example is diet. In my personal experience, I've noticed an evident pattern with my food choices. In current society, we are entitled to different types of food that we can access easily. Our food choices can depend on many factors such as our financial status, environment, physical state, and culture.
My food intake is strongly influenced by cultural aspects that have been constructed by years of routine. Healthy eating has been part of my parents lifestyle for many years and routine has played a key role in establishing the acceptable norms. Fatty foods like Mcdonalds and pizza are not conventional in my household, hence, I don't include these foods in my regular meal plan.
Societal norms are also taken into account when making food choices. The ideal body size the media commends, narrows the list of acceptable foods and how much of them we can eat (more food=fat, unhealthy food=fat). Thus, I have the power to eat junk food whenever I want but choose not to because of societal expectations and norms.
