Double- blind procedure is when neither the patient nor the researchers know which group the participants belong to. The patients are put into two different groups, the experimental group ( Receive the drug ) and the control group (receive the placebo/sugar pill), in order to test the placebo effect. The placebo effect is the effect on the patient's health by their belief in the placebo. The goal of this procedure is to get rid of any bias that the researchers may have towards the participants for more accurate results.
