Provide an example of an everyday situation not mentioned by our authors that you think could be analyzed as an example of classical conditioning.
One example would be the use of the alarm clock. At night when you set your alarm clock you put on vibrate or a ringtone to wake you up in the morning. The first reaction to hearing your alarm clock go off is a groan, followed by thoughts like: "why do I have to get up?", "why me" or "great, another early morning for me". It's better to put a song that you do not technically enjoy waking up to because you'll get up faster rather than enjoying it and sleeping in. Neural impulses send signals to your brain that makes you feel these particular emotions like not wanting to wake up in the morning. In addition, a person might experience the same response in the morning when they hear the song played when their alarm goes off. Once you adapt to the sound of the alarm in the morning, you will have an initial response to the stimuli.
