The point made by this experiment is how human behaviour can be influenced based on the association of two different things. A child, who has been recognized as having a blank slate, and who was quite open to the objects presented to him had successfully been influenced into associating the rat with the loud gong. Little Albert had no apparent associations with any of the objects, although did have a negative association with the gong noise. when pairing the two, the gong noise has created a negative experience with the rat for the child. This goes to show that regardless of someone's initial interpretation of something, it can likely be altered through the association of something else.
