This experiment is so widely known and important in Psychology because it directly studies the relationship between environment and response of an individual. It shows how behavior can in fact be manipulated to get the desired response. In this case Albert's response to the rat was conditioned by manipulating his surroundings. If the child changed his behavior towards the rat because of the environment, this can also be true for other people. This basically proved how the surroundings of an individual can shape their behavior and how an individuals behavior towards something can be changed by changing their environment. The result of the experiment shows that a person's behavior can be conditioned to receive a certain emotional response. This introduced Psychology into behaviorism instead of being based on just fundamentally known facts.
