Moghaddam describes play as a learning experience for young children as it is an opportunity for them to extend themselves, or to act above their age. An example of this would be playing house in which a child assigns different roles of a family to his friends and they imitate the lives of a family, same with playing in a fake or even real kitchen. In these situations children are able to use their creativity to any extent they please to mimic and adult situation, which seems like fun for them but is actually preparing them for future responsibilities. A personal example would be playing with younger children, somewhat giving me a responsibility over them or even helping my parents garden for fun. As well, playing a kitchen is a very common example.
