A main example from my past school experience where a teacher chose a task that was not in my ZPD would be in all of my English classes. My teachers know that I hate reading in front of people because I knew that I couldn't pronounce the words properly and as well didn't feel comfortable. One day the teacher told me to read an act in Shakespeare and it was all downhill from there. I stopped reading the chapter in front of everyone and told her how I honestly can't read this because of how hard it is for me to pronounce these words. She told me "oh well" and continue reading. Her knowing that I was struggling with reading these acts and as well didn't even feel comfortable doing it which made me screw up on my readings even more is an example of how she knew that this was not in my ZPD and yet she still inappropriately chose this task for me, and made me finish it.
An example of when I was chosen a task that was in my ZPD is when I was in elementary school and we all had jobs to do before leaving class. Some had stacking the chairs and others had cleaning the chalk board. I remember one year I had stacking the chairs. This task for me was in my ZPD because I personally didn't have any problems with this task and always finished the task. I never asked anyone to help me out with the task because I knew I did not need help from someone else and knew I could do it all by myself without ever struggling.
