Identify what is meant by each of the following concepts and explain the importance of each in the study of Developmental Psychology: a) Strange situation: was theorized by Mary Ainsworth. She discusses when the child is in the room and a stranger enters the room, followed by the parent leaving them. The child is usually anxious being left alone with a stranger, and upon the mother's return, the child will display on of the three types of attachment: secure, anxious avoidant, and anxious resistant b) Scaffolding: this is when a supportive adult helps a child through a test etc... Generally used when evaluating their zone of proximal development c) Ideal forms: A child's conception of the world through perception; how they see the world. It's the importance of imitation and collective play: they practice through play. Basically working at one's level
