Strange Situation:
This consist of the relationship between a mother and an infant, which was developed by Mary Ainsworth. The importance of this is observing the behaviour of the infant of when the mother leaves the child and comes back after a while. The reaction falls into the categories of secure attachment, avoidant attachment and resistant attachment.
Scaffolding:
According to Vygotsky, this concept refers to children learning through interactions. Often times, it deals with helping a less skilled child until he or she is able to learn on their own. For instance, when growing up as a martial artist I learned basic skills and techniques from my instructor. However, as time went by I was able to perform those techniques with no help, as if it became second nature to me.
Ideal Forms:
Ideal forms are seen through the behaviour of adults, which teaches a child on how to behave. It is often done through imitation and play. For instance, pretending to be a teacher as a child teaches him or her on how to act according to what he or she sees within their own teacher. This allows the child to explore and test out skills.
