I understood intersubjectivity to mean the shared understanding of individuals or groups of people. It relates to attachment theory because if mother and child have understanding of each other this leads to a greater bond between the two. Intersubjectivity is strong factor at birth. For example an infant cries to get food and the mother comes to feed the infant. The infant will be crying till the food is in the their mouth. Eventually the infant will understand that this is their source of food and will stop crying when the mother approaches.

You do have the right idea about intersubjectivity but could you expand more on why attachment theories are significant in respect to intersubjectivity
