The concept of the frustration-aggression hypothesis is as follows, the theory that when a person is unsuccessful in reaching a set goal or being treated in a way they dont believe to be fair they will become frustrated, which in turn festers up and is acted up through aggressive behaviors due to that frustration felt. In other words, frustration is a precurser to aggression and it is a matter of finding the sources of frustration and eliminating it or controlling it. Moghaddam focuses more on Freud's ideal of displaced aggression (seen as a defence mechanisms) the anger which is ignored acted on in other ways such as projection. One example would be your parents yell at you at something you think is unfair no for a period of time you will be upset and mad that anger you will not take our on your parents due to fear of authority rather you take it out on a friend or a younger sibling because you know the consequences are much smaller.
