Harlow's experiment led multiple sciences to understand the comfort of an animal. Most behaviorists believed that the wired monkey who nurtured the infant would be picked when the infant monkey got scared but in fact it was the opposite. The physical comfort a monkey looks for is more important then the actual nurture. As they defined what love is and love is protecting their child with the physical ability of comfort to be able to fight back against any problem that was ahead like the scary loud monster. This is damaging to the behaviorist view of learning because they believe that one's base is food and shelter, without it they would not be truly happy and this would lead them to struggle through life until the base is satisfied only then can they move on to satisfying their emotions and personal self.
