One example of an experience that I've had in high school where I was in a situation where I felt the need to conform in some way was at my friend's house party in grade 10. I remember feeling pressured to drink alcohol just because my friend's were doing it. They encouraged me to drink more to have a good time but I chose not to because I knew that there will be future consequences and it wasn't the right thing to do. It was the norm to follow everyone else's actions but in my own mind I felt that I was the odd one out. I don't regret anything till this day because it gave me the power to think before I do something. That resulted in me being a better person in society and making valid decisions in every day situations. I wouldn't say I lost anything by conforming just my friends that I felt were not right for me. Basically I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
