Zimbardo prison incorporates norms by establishing roles for different individuals. For example: "the police officers", prisoners had to obey whatever the officers told them to. They started getting into their roles (conforming); basically becoming what they were portrayed. This relates to the Milgram obedience research because the Milgram experiment similarly established authoritative roles, power roles. The experiment gave electric shock to the learner if the recited words were wrong. The teacher was given shock, prior hence knew how it felt.
