A situation where I had been involved in where I was being told to do something that was inappropriate to others is when I worked in a bank as a teller. The branch manager had asked me to withdraw money on behalf of a client (her mother), who was not physically able to come into the branch. This was suspicious activity and could be very harmful to the client because as per procedure we can only withdraw money when given consent and the fact that the client was not one asking to withdraw the money herself, even though her daughter had requested it could have been fraudulent. Considerations whether to obey my manager was the fact that I had someone in authority asking me to do something therefore, I trust this person would not do something fraudulent. I had also considered the fact that if I do not obey her I would loose my job. Therefore, the primary determiners of the behaviour I chose was feeling guilty, that if I did not obey my manager I would be going against authority regardless if I was doing something legal or not.
