Moghaddam says that in order for a minority to persuade the majority to take their position, they must take a consistent and non-dogmatic position. He gives the example of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, how they were convincing through principled arguments that were always open to dialogue and discussion. Moscovici believed that minorities influenced the majority through conversion, or changing one's mind, rather than compliance, changing one's behaviour.
