The behaviourists prediction of the monkeys when they are frightened would be that the monkeys would go to the wire monkey, because it was supplying food. They would expect this because food is needed in order to survive; therefore the wire mother’s provide safety, comfort and security, as attachment is adaptive since it increases chances for survival. The actual result is damaging to the behaviourist view of learning and behaviour because, the results were a total opposite of the stimulus/response model of the behaviourists. Since, the infant monkeys were not getting rewarded or punished for their behaviour.
