Gender-a social construct defining sometimes similarly with sex, but not always.

Can you elaborate on how gender is a social construct? Can you give some examples to compare the gender and sex? Also, you did not answer the question fully; it also asks "What is the relevance of this distinction to Psychologists? What does it mean to say that 'gender identities are constructed'".
