Many countries outside of America have a different set of norms. In Europe it is commonly accepted to act in ways that would be considered horrific here. When I visited Puerto Rico, I felt as though I was in a different society. People were happier, and they dressed differently then what was accepted back home. The police are seen joking around with civilians, and acting in a more laid back manner. This made me realize that although Canada is a beautiful and efficient country, but we follow a stricter set of norms in order to run a cleaner and safer country. Sometimes this results in breaking the norms or laws. In many countries in South America civilians can be seen smoking marijuana openly on the streets or displaying public intoxication which is something that is illegal here.

Good explanation - do you think that you assumed people in Europe are happier because youi are looking in from the outside?
