Moghaddam stated that instead of minorities always conforming to the norms established by the majority, they can create their own norms. This creation of norms can result into making a movement that aims to create change. This movement may also affect those who are in the majority. Since, the minorities do not have the power to make the people especially those who are in the majority to comply, they use persuasion. The influence of minority relies on their ability to persuade, whereas those who are in majorities rely on forceful ways. An implication of this argument was the women's suffrage. During the early times, women are not allowed to vote.A small group of suffragettes argued that women should be allowed to vote and run for elections. The hard word of the suffragettes, combined with the justice of the case they are fighting for, led the majority to accept their point of view and created change.
