The concept of mood differs from the concept of emotion and feeling, as mood is much more generalized and involves the influence on outside factors towards your current state of mind. For example, mood can be based on the weather, the people surrounding an individual, or the current situation the person is in (school, work, home alone, etc). They can last for extended periods of time. On the other hand, emotion is more of an immediate reaction in response to a certain trigger that causes that reaction. For example, a loud noise induces the emotion of fear. Feeling occurs after an emotion, and is what happens after the emotion "sinks in". An emotion that was initially anger can move towards a feeling of disappointment after a certain amount of time.

Great explanation - you could still build on this but I liked how you tied in longevity into it!
