It is important to distinguish between feelings and emotions, Emotions are the bodily expressions of the experienced. For example we get embarrassed of seeing a person that we have emotions for, our bodily expressions are getting red on our face, heart beat , so on.. but feelings are the internal states of the experienced phenomenon, we might say : I love the person or keep it. So Feelings come after emotion and it is not passive.

Do you agree with Damasio that emotions come before feelings, can you expand on this? Also please expand on the statement that Damasio makes that feeling is not a passive process.

Why do you think feelings are not a passive process?
