“I don’t trust men, they all they’ll be true, but they never are. “ This case can be studied using the psychoanalytic approach and Kelly’s personal construct theory. Psychoanalytic Approach: In the psychoanalytic approach, they would study this individual’s statement by observing their past experiences with men. This experiences would provide an explanation as to why such the behavior is depicted. These continuous, unpleasant experiences with men may have caused this negative outlook against all men. Kelly’s Personal construct theory: In the personal construct theory, they would explain the behavior of this particular person as scientist like. Here, the individual may look at their own or others interaction with men and develop an hypothesis about them. They create a bilateral trait by predicting that men are either loyal and trustworthy or deceitful. This hypothesis is tested several times before the final attitude towards men is finalized. The unfaithfulness of a boyfriend or husband and abandonment of a father can cause this behavior.

Hi,
Nice explanation for both schools of psychology. Can you elaborate more on Psychoanalytic approach. Perhaps you can talk about the role of unconsciousness that play apart here. Also what other weakness does a psychoanalyst would see in a person like above.
Other than that, great answer. Keep it up.
Thanks, Ali
