joint action is indeed the social interaction that takes place within our environment or our everyday life. The origin cannot be traced to initial intention of individuals. by observing the body languages and spoken word of others we as humans are able to read the actions of such individuals. having the ability to be able to read and anticipate the actions of others through body language and spoon words can either develop ones relationship with that individual or due the opposite. for example when meeting a new person through spending time with them you would e engaging in joint action and would be able to get an idea of what kind of a person that individual is through their body language and also their spoken word.
