The independent variable would be within the person who is being experimented. Some variables that should be taken into account is that which is affiliated with the independent variable i.e. the person who getting jealous. Variables such as self-fulfillment, confidence, esteem, and threshold (what acts are harmless and what acts can be considered crossing the line at which the person gets uncomfortable).
I personally would refrain from using a lab for conducting such experiment as it is not the most comfortable and “unnatural” way of extracting the desired behavior. The best way to spearhead this situation is by conducting surveys

So you are trying to say that dependent variables are the outside stimuli.
