The way the double-blind procedure works is that you have an experimenter and the experimented. The experimenter is doing trials through a select groups of participants using real drugs and placebo. The experimenter does not tell his participants which one is the placebo and which one is the actual drug. This is done by avoiding any bias. However in the double blind procedure, both experimenter and the participant are clueless. This also done to eliminate any possibility of bias amongst the experimenter.
