Eugenics is described as a way to selectively breed two specimens with favorable characteristics in order to promote a certain set of traits, and intervening in the pro-creation of specimens that do not fit those desired traits. This term has a negative connotation, as it is mostly associated with genocide and ethnic cleansing. However, we must realize that we are all participating in a form of 'eugenics' - it is seen on an individual level by deciding what type of person you chose to procreate with. You cast aside certain individuals that do not fit your perceived idea of what is deemed attractive. This also incorporates our biology, as partner selection often has do with being attracted to an individual subconsciously due to their smell. Genetic diversity allows for a species to continue and evolve in a manner that will allow it to thrive, so what we interpret as simply selecting a mate is actually a subconscious, biological process that demonstrates indicators of an individuals' health, fertility, etc. In effect, eugenics is part of evolution. The only thing that is different is that humans have employed their sense of agency to kill millions throughout history to promote their idea of the 'perfect human'.
