From my point of view playing in your home field does not fit the placebo effect by definition. Placebo usually takes place when you administer inactive substances in order to change beliefs. In this case the stadium does not qualify as there are many aspects of it that make a direct difference in ones game. Even though most soccer fields do follow certain rules as to how their built one does feel more confident in playing on one that he has practised on as he would know all the weak and strong spots on the field. Additionally having support from the audience does boost ones ego and at the same time taunting the opposite players works in the opposite direction reducing their ego and confidence, thus bringing down their performance.

You may just want to keep an eye out for the way you describe a placebo, as you mentioned that a placebo changes beliefs but its the opposite, beliefs shape if a placebo is going to work or not. Hope that clarifies it a bit.
