Before anything, I must say this was one of the exceptional psychology classes that I have ever had. Thanks to Prof. Sheese on this great and different lecture he held today. I could never believe that a book about Spinoza would be thought in an introductory to psychology course. I am myself so much interested in Philosophy and always studied philosophy besides my studies. I believe that each of us is talented to a large degree and are here to explore them and implement them in our lives or other people's lives and finally make our world and other's world a much better place to breathe.
I believe that many things and major are interconnected and they affect each other as the butterfly effect in physics.
Long story short, I am a double degree person. I finished my Bachelor and Masters of Architecture as my major was maths at high school and this was the closest to my art lover personality. I was graduated with a Masters degree in architecture in 2005. The n as I started working in that environment, day by day I observed that it's not the job that I always desired. Sitting in front of the computer for 8 hours for an active and passionate soul like mine could be devastating, having said that out of 700 pages of my thesis 400 pages were done in "Environmental Psychology". I am a painting artist and a musician as well which both are my passions, but I found out that I need to do something for myself as always believed " We should love our jobs" to be able to live a healthy balanced life and I was far away from that concept. So after 8 years of experiencing architecture, I decided to move into psychology world, and I did... Fortunately was admitted at the Masters of Clinical psychology which was my dream. I finished my Masters in 2014 and since 2014 have been practicing psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Being very much interested in psychoanalysis and rather call myself a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, have had great outcomes by using eclectic psychotherapy methods from CBT, BT to Psychoanalysis. I have been in 2 years with the frequency of 3 days a week in psychoanalytic therapy, had participated in many workshops in contemporary psychotherapy to classical and contemporary psychoanalysis, and I believe it has helped me a lot to overcome my own problems then help other people with this procedure, sometimes CBT works well but all the times my perspective and understanding the roots of the problems of the individual is stemmed from psychoanalysis theories ( Still a long path to catch up and learn that school).
The reason I am in this course is that to continue in Ph.D. we needed to have a BA degree equivalent to Psychology, and by taking some courses in 1.5 yr I will be graduated in BA psychology and then will apply for Ph.D. of Clinical psychology.
Hope we all enjoy this course.
