Barlett describes the schema as a mental organization strategy that is applied to experiences in order to makes sense of them and directs future behavior.
Piaget describes it as something that is influenced both by the external factors as well as internal guiding interaction with the environment and in his sense the cognitive schemes are interdependent of the motor schemes.
in Barlett's description schema is viewed more as a biological concept because it is referring to the use of the brain's abilities to organize information and create meaning.
while in Piaget's view it has 2 separate components: cognition, that is a mental process (meaning system) and motor, that is body functional (biological).
