Play is very important because children pick up very essential factors for individual growth of personality and intelligence. When children play in groups, they learn things they would not have had any knowledge of before. This is called working above one's level. Especially when playing the game house, children learn to imitate their parents or the adults they see in their environment. They start seeing how other children portray mother figures, father figures and child figures. Together, they educate themselves and this helps them in adult lifes. What children do for each other is Scaffolding. They help and support each other and this gives one the oppertunities one whouldnt have had when working alone. It teaches children that in groups ( with support) they can learn far more things than alone.
