The way I like to consider the idiographic and nomothetic approaches are to consider the phrases of "working out" or "working in" as Moghaddam uses. Because nomothetic approaches generalize, in this case this approach would be the equivalent of working out. Ideographic then would be considered working out because they are far more individualistic in their approach and instead focus case by case while considering cultural contexts. With this then, obviously th idiographic approach to studying personality would be individualist and atomistic, while nomothetic approaches would be reductionist.
